- I'm guessing here: you are trying to create outlines that are unrelated
- to documents you have created, or intend to create, in Final Writer?
-
- First: you SHOULD be using TABs, perhaps the default settings, perhaps not.
- Second: "spacing" is not reliable (as you noticed) with PPS fonts.
- Third: you have an option to TABs - and to primative "spacing".

- My User Tool Bar contains a pair of buttons intended for use in creating
- outline documents. One resets the margins "in" a tab, the other resets
- the margins "out" a tab. They also set the text in "hanging indent"
- style. So, I want to go from I) to A) (or to "a)") which means "down a
- level" in the outline. I hit the button and type A) followed by text.
- Should the text exceed a line, it will wrap to a position "inside" where
- the A) is located. Further levels will be even further centered. The
- other button undoes this centering a level at a time. This "centering" of
- your margins is a bit more sophisticated than simply using the TABs,
- which is fine only so long as you do not need to use line-wrap.
